Some things we did before Double Shot

Simon's web work

Over the course of 10 years, Simon has worked in many roles in "interactive" from Project Manager to Online Journalist, leader of large-scale teams to designer & coder.  We've put up a selection of  Simon's online work here.

The (ahem) record industry years

Simon worked for the first 10 years of his professional life for Virgin Records, UK,  latterly Virgin EMI. His principal achievement was the series of records now collectively known by their catalogue number prefix, AMBT. We've gathered that work together, along with some related releases, here.

Dancing about architecture

Simon used to write an awful lot about music: interviews, profiles and, most of all, album reviews, lots of album reviews: jazz, extreme metal, soul music, electronica, from Radiohead to the natives of Guyana, Miles Davis to Napalm Death. We're currently building an index of his work for The Wire magazine, Hi-Fi World and the pioneering online 'zine Motion. Keep an eye on this page.

Simon's work as a musician

Simon has been working live and on record ever since his good friend, the composer and musician Paul Schütze asked him to collaborate at a festival in Ulm, Germany in the mid-90s. Drawing on his own enthusiasms - jazz, electronica, metal - and lifelong love of the electric guitar, Simon continues to play and compose; some of the things he's been involved in are documented here.
